General Services
24-HOUR HOSPITAL CARE | Emergencies can occur at any time. Our doors are open to emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, with an on-call veterinarian ready to help your pet. When necessary we offer critical care services and monitoring. |
BATHING | Treat your favorite furry friend to a luxurious bath. Our special, cleansing baths remove dirt, debris and dander. Your pet will feel fresh and revitalized. If scratching is a problem, our medicated baths contain soothing agents that help stop the itching. Services also include nail trim and ear cleaning. |
BEHAVIORAL MEDICINE | Illness doesn't always have a physical cause. We employ trained animal behaviorists who help determine the cause of such disorders as separation anxiety and obsessive behavior, and then develop a treatment regimen for the client. |
BIRDS, REPTILES, RABBITS AND SMALL MAMMALS | Veterinary medicine for exotic pets is growing as the popularity of these animals increase. With better public education in health, nutritional and environmental management, all species have a greater chance for living longer and healthier lives. Our Dr Peg Caron had extensive experience in the care and treatments of exotics. We have specialized surgical equipment and an exotic pet intensive care incubator for the care of exotic pets. |
BLOOD TRANSFUSION | We have access to a variety of blood and blood products that may be needed to treat your pet. We obtain these products on an as needed basis from a local animal blood bank. The blood is collected from donor pets and all blood is carefully screened for disease. |
BOARDING | Pets are like our children – we feed, nurture and lavish attention on them. Our highly qualified kennel attendants do the same when you can't be there. We also have trained Veterinary Technicians available to administer medications or treatment that may be needed by some pets. We do everything we can to assure that your pet has a happy time with us and our owners feel very comfortable knowing their pet will taken care of as if one of our own. |
DAY CARE | Is your pet unhappy or lonely while you're at work? Give your companion the personal attention he or she deserves throughout the day. We offer the same TLC and playtime offered to our longer-term guests. |
DENTAL CARE | Regular professional cleaning is important to maintaining your pet's teeth. We use modern and safe ultrasound to clean each tooth thoroughly - above and below the gum line. Dental technicians polish teeth to create a smooth, lustrous tooth surface more resistant to plaque buildup. Every pet that has their teeth cleaned is examined by a veterinarian and any abnormalities found will be communicated to you before further treatment is performed. We use state of the art anesthesia and patient monitering to provide maximum comfort and safety for your pet. |
FULLY STOCKED PHARMACY | We stock a wide range of the best veterinary drugs, nutriceuticals and alternative therapies in the animal healthcare field. |
HOSPICE/EUTHANASIA SERVICES | Saying goodbye to a long-time friend is painful. We work with clients to ensure their pet's comfort and dignity. Services include taking care of the remains as directed by the client. |
HOUSE CALLS | Our mobile health unit responds to house calls if you are unable to bring your pet to the clinic. |
IMMUNIZATION AND WELLNESS CARE | We strive to prevent illness whenever possible. The time and effort invested in Wellness programs has rewards for both pets and owners. Our Wellness programs are designed specifically for your pet and include: Comprehensive physical exam; internal parasite testing; heartworm and flea control; vaccination program; spay and neuter package; and specialized blood tests for all life stages. |
INTERNAL MEDICINE | We cover all areas of internal medicine, including: Cardiology; Ophthalmology; Neurology; Dermatology; Gastroenterology; Orthopedic surgery; Oncology; Endocrinology; among others. |
MICROCHIPPING | Microchips have helped reunite thousands of pets with their families. We offer the most widely used microchip products to increase the chances of a safe recovery. |
NUTRITIONAL COUNSELING | Some pets require special food, and all pets benefit from a balanced diet. Our trained and certified staff is available to help you choose the right diet for your pet to keep him or her happy, healthy and active. |
PAIN MANAGEMENT | Veterinary patients feel pain and discomfort under the same circumstances as people do. We know that recognizing and alleviating pain in animals is the essence of good patient care. |
RADIOLOGY | Radiology – or X-rays – help our veterinarians evaluate muscular-skeletal, cardiovascular(cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive and urinary systems. |
SPECIALISTS | Sometimes conditions arise that require veterinarians with specialized training. We have a board certified internal medicine specialist, Dr. Liz Shaker who comes to our practice every 2 weeks to perform specialized ultrasound evaluations and internal medicine consultations. We also can assist referring you to many other specialists including dermatologists, opthomologists, cardiologists and advanced surgery specialists that may be needed to treat your pet effectively. |
SPECIALIZED SURGERY | Our veterinary surgeons include specialists able to perform eye surgery, neurosurgery and orthopedic surgical procedures. |
SURGERY | We offer the most advanced surgical techniques and technology. All patients are carefully screened for safety, and anesthetics are specifically tailored to your pet. Surgical services and facilities include: board certified surgeon available for consultation; fully trained veterinary and technical staff, to ensure the safest, most efficient, state-of-the-art procedures for your pet; heated surgery tables for greater comfort; advanced sterilization techniques; ECG and oxygen saturation monitors; intensive after surgery care and full blood testing. |
ULTRASOUND | This non-invasive, state-of-the-art technology uses sound waves to painlessly examine specific internal organs, primarily the heart and abdominal organs. Pregnancy exams are also available. |
COMPLEMENTARY MEDICINE | Our clinic embraces the holistic approach to pet health and wellness. We balance traditional medicine with acupuncture, bionutritional analysis and nutriceutical supplementation. |
Emergency and Critical care | Greylock Animal Hospital provides 24 hour coverage for emergecies. We have complete in house laboratory, radiology and surgery facilities that allow rapid and accurate diagnosis and treatment. We also have experienced veterinarians and trained technicians available to provide intensive care for your pet. |
